Renewable Energy for our Servers

Not only are Template Hoster's servers 36% more energy effiecient than most leading servers, our power is supplied by renewable energy - windfarms. This is good news for the environment, because one server produces roughly the same energy as a 15 mpg SUV. That contributes much emissions to the environment and we are doing something about it.

Template Hoster's servers participates in Renewable Energy Credits (RECs); which are tradeable credits representing all the environmental benefits of 1 megawatt hour of renewable energy. So, when our server produces energy, 130% RECs are purchased to offset the energy production. This means that for every 1 REC purchased, 1 megawatt of wind power is produced by a windfarm and is put back into the grid. That is the equivalency of purchasing power solely on renewable energy.

Our server has been verified in renewable energy and greenhouse gas emission reductions which resulted in certification by Green-e, the nation's leading independent consumer protection program for the sale of renewable energy and greenhouse gas reductions in the retail market.
